It’s an 80 year old tradition. Every August, the romantic city of Venice hosts the world’s oldest film festival. The Venice International Film Festival celebrates 80 years of combining good quality cinema and high fashion. Taking place between August 29th and September 8th, it is the perfect event to jog the fashion lovers around the world in the new season.

Italian designers were honored as many of the celebrities chose gowns made in Italy. Hollywood actresses looked their best but European elegance was phenomenal. Laetitia Casta, brought glamour to the panel of judges by choosing exquisite apparel.

The Golden Lion might be the festival’s grand prize but the sartorial battlefield is what excites us. Fashion’s big guns are out. Here are our favorite looks, divided in six different categories. Let’s see who will conquer Venice’s historical red carpet…
