Having completed her studies at the Duperré School of Applied Arts, she joined the jewellery department of Jean Paul Gaultier, worked with Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga as Studio Director (1996-2006), became Christian Lacroix’s Head of Couture Design (2008-2009), and started her own eponymous brand in 2010. A few years later she is awarded the Chevalier medallion in recognition of her contribution to the French Arts and receives the haute couture appellation.

Due to her strong background in the fashion industry, Jarrar’s future in Lanvin is expected to be promising. ‘’She is the obvious choice for Lanvin,” added Michèle Huiban, chief executive officer of the house.“Her talent, her high standards and her mastery of cuts and fabrics will bring a breath of freshness and modernity into the house, while respecting its soul as the oldest Paris fashion house, a symbol of French elegance.”

Perfecto jackets, sharp coats and tailored trousers consist the designer’s signature pieces and prove the reasons why Jarrar has earned her place among designers who create high-end fashion. Although the collections are presented during Paris Haute Couture Week, they focus more on daywear rather than on polished luxury. Her refined and perfectly constructed designs reveal a world where craftsmanship meets talent and details mean everything.

‘’It is a huge honour to continue promoting the Lanvin style, with designs created in the company’s ateliers by teams who possess extraordinary expertise,” said Jarrar. ”Joining Lanvin meets a desire to expend my creation to wider fields of expression. It is my intention to bring to Lanvin the harmony and consistency of a fashion designed for women, a fashion of our time.”
