GUCCI & GIVENCHY HEADED TO BERLIN FOR THEIR 2016 CAMPAIGNS

The luxury houses’ Spring 2016 campaign are shot on location at some of the German capital’s Cold War-era spots.

When both Gucci and Givenchy feature the same face in their latest campaigns – unveiled within 72 hours of each other – the fashion world wonders. Is Berlin fashion’s favorite artistic hub?

A few days ago saw the release of Glen Luchford’s dreamy images for Gucci of skateboarding 1970’s glamour kids while climbing the familiar yellow-tiled steps of Hermannplatz. Then, Givenchy released a video-teaser for their Autumn 2016 pre-collection campaign. It’s also set on the humble U-Bahn and shot by Berlin-based artist Matt Lambert. According to his Instagram account, Ricardo Tisci was in Berlin two weeks ago, so one might easily speculate that the release was pushed forward in reaction to Gucci.
