In 2006, TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and saw that they didn’t have adequate shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes for a child in need. One for One.
Till today, TOMS has given more than 10 million pairs of new shoes to children in need and helped restore sight to over 200,000 people.
It has been a pure joy and absolute pride being TOMS’ ambassandor in Greece for all these years, helping this initiative to get bigger and bigger as the time goes buy.
Every year, we take off our shoes for one day to raise awareness for the children’s health and education all over the world.
On April 29th, 2014, here in Athens, we all gathered at the gorgeous yard of Six D.o.g.s downtown, took proudly our shoes off and danced to the music of Egghell while raising awareness for all those in need! Fashion Workshop was there, Yatzer was there, John John was there and all the Athenians supporting TOMS’ initiative, all having an amazing time. Meanwhile, Six D.o.g.s’ project space transformed into a TOMS pop up store for the whole week, featuring special installations made out of TOMS by Yatzer!
Believe it or not a pair of TOMS shoes can change a child’s life in a huge way!
