MOSCHINO FALL 2014
Could some Pop-corn, candy bars, salty chips and a McDonald’s happy meal be the must-have fashion pieces for fall 2014? If all of them are the patterns of a Moschino outfit by Jeremy Scott, then yes. Models walked down the catwalk wearing Chanel-like twinsets in the signature colors of McDonald’s, red and yellow, as well as bleached denim. The famous “M” logo of the Fast Food chain reconfigured as the label’s iconic heart design and became the predominant pattern on sweatshirts, chainbags and sunglasses. The show was loud in every aspect with the SpongeBob theme, leather outfits made of Moschino-logo belts and dresses that imitated consumer goods packaging and wrapping paper.
FENDI FALL 2014
The Fendi fall 2014 collection was furry, sporty, sharp and, as Karl Lagerfeld said, “romantic”. Mid-calf skirts, zippered at the front and mini pleated ones in midnight blue, brown and olive green teamed with oversized, boxy blouses and sleeveless tops giving a sporty glamorous touch. The fashion house of Fendi that has won great acclaim for its furs back in the 1930’s and caused a stir for furs back in the 1960’s when Lagerfeld redesigned totally that type of clothing, strikes back once again and makes the fur the must have item for the coming fall. Wool coats with extravagant fur hoods- like Eskimos-, luxurious fur coats and casual coats with tufts of fur and patchwork took the catwalk by storm, whilst the pinned orchids at their necklines reminded us charming old trends.
