The Swoosh gets Givenchy-ed.

After David Bedoni’s Swoosh attack via tumblr Nike strikes back and makes headlines. As it was announced earlier this evening Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci will be collaborating with the sportswear label for a special sneakers edition called Nike RT.
“For me, Nike represents a lot: my childhood, America. When I got the call, it sounded so strong, so perfect for my DNA. It’s a big honor for me, especially because they’re always working with sports people” Tisci said WWD.
Modified on his taste and aesthetic the shoe collection is due to become the ultimate sensation of the season let alone an innovation for the very brand, as the project is not about altering the print only but the very shape of the sneakers. That and the three to four season-long craze for the Givenchy “tribe” make for a hit collab expected to strike us like a swoosh-formed thunderbolt.
“I couldn’t bring them technology, instead I brought my style, what people like me for and what the young generation follows me for.”
The only visual clue we have on the collection is a short vine posted by Tisci on Instagram and his statement: “It’s strong without being loud.”.
