The cold outside fits perfectly with a glass of wine, good company and a lot of great stories. The magic of Christmas lies in small things like sweets, little presents, warm thoughts and a slice of magic that always exists. If you want to add an extra touch to your holidays here are the best five Christmas destinations…

New York City: The most impressive Christmas window displays. Amazing glamorous cases, at the Fifth Avenue flagships and department stores like Saks and Bergdorf, are impressive enough to makes us cry like babies. The giant tree and ice rink at Rockefeller Center, the lights on Broadway, all the musical performances, the Radio City Music Hall and a Christmas performance of the New York City Ballet are enough reasons to make us visit this wonderful city this particular time of the year.

Paris: Walking around Montmartre and the Christmas markets where you can buy special gift for your beloveds. The chic French capital offers a lot of must-see sights. A cruise down the Seine River can be vibrating after hours of shopping at the legendary Galeries Lafayette a truly architecture treasure with the colorful and creative holiday decoration. If you want to feel like a child plan a visit to Disneyland and ice-skate in front of the Hotel de Ville. To capture the holiday spirit, find a vantage point where you can see the Eiffel Tower, go to the nearest café and raise your glass for good luck. The city of light and l’amour is waiting for you!

Prague: Catch an opera or ballet at the State Opera or National Theater. Visit the holiday flea markets at the center of the Old Town square, buy fine handmade lace and glassware and drink some traditional hot, red wine while school choirs often sings the traditional carols. The Gothic and Baroque architecture is magical when snow falls slowly. You can even try a romantic boat tour across the Vltava river or walk across the enlightened Charles Bridge. You won’t be disappointed.

Lapland: Everybody knows that there is no Christmas without Santa. So the best place to find him in front of his house is the official hometown of Santa, Rovaniemi! This is not a place only for children. You can make gingerbread cookies with Mrs. Clause and still have fun. For all the adventurous out there, there is an option of staying in an Igloo Hotel or in the Arctic Snow Hotel. You can also experience a traditional husky safari or a ride with the classic sleigh with reindeers. Oh, and if you are lucky enough you may have the opportunity to see the magical northern lights in the sky!

London: One of the most hot destinations in Europe. When you walk down the Regent Street you feel something different in the atmosphere. Have fun at the Leicester Square fair, have a ride on the London Eye and ice-skate or scramble around like Bambi next to the National History Museum. Shop all your Christmas presents at the legendary and beautiful decorated Harrods at Brompton Road or at Selfridges in Oxford Street. The best musicals waiting for you at the West End and if you want to keep it old school, visit the Covent Garden market and have a hot cup of cocoa or a glass of wine.

Happy holidays to you all…
