The gripping voices of some of the best opera singers in Greece have been dressed up with splendid costumes, designed exclusively for them, by five Greek designers, for a unique and original show.

Marie Claire Greece couldn’t have found a better way to celebrate its 25 years of living, than this special evening. Attuned to the trend that wants fashion designers to sign the costumes of some of the most major productions of opera houses, Marie Claire, created a show consisting of successive extracts of five well-known lyric works, which they were presented on a stage-catwalk, under the name of “La Passione”.

The unique Amina of Bellini’s artwork, La Sonnambula, appeared first, impersonated by the sopranoVasiliki Karagianni, who was dressed with a voluminous black toilet, from Konstantinos Melis by Laskos, which transformed during the act into a stunning white one.

After Amina, it was the Aida’s turn to appear. Soprano Anna Stylianaki and mezzo-soprano Helen Voudouraki Amnerida, played the popular duet from the Verdi’s opera. Both they were dressed with Orsalia’s Parthenis creations.

Aida was followed by “La Traviatta”, with the chic soprano Elena Kelesidis, dressed from head to toe with Vassilis Emmanuel Zoulias.

And a a remarkably fatal Dalida, who was impersonated by the mezzo-soprano Helen Voudouraki, wearing a golden pleated dress by MiRo.

As well as a remarkable Carmen, played by the mezzo soprano Ines Zikou, who was wearing a white creation from the designer Ioanna Kourbela. The opera singers, as well as the tenor of the show Dimitris Paksoglou were accompanied by the students of Higher Professional Dance School of the National Opera, who they were flanked all the show with a fabulous movement and they were dressed from the five fashion designers as well.

The directorial supervision of the show was by Alexander Euclid and the music was curated by Dimitris Jaka.

After the magical show, a unique exhibition of some of the most amazing covers of Marie Claire Greece, from November 1988, till today, was waiting all the distinguished guests at the foyer of the Banquet room.

Among them were the publisher of Dol publications, Stavros Psycharis, the editor of Marie Claire Christina Psychari, Marianna Vardinogiannis, the director of National Opera Myron Michailidis, our very own Vicky Kaya, the creator of Fashion Workshop by Vicly Kaya, and many other people from the world of fashion and arts.
