Lou Doillon: Who’s that girl?

A singer, an actress, a bohemian mum, a fashion icon, a true Parisian star.

It hasn’t been easy being Lou Doillon, the daughter of Brit fashion idol Jane Birkin (the inspiration behind the famous Hermès Birkin bag) and French filmmaker Jacques Doillon. But now, having lived in the shadow of one of the most famous and artistic families of France, Lou has become a Parisian It girl.

She has modeled for Gap, been the face of Givency’s campaign and has acted in French films ever since. But now she is France’s most beloved folk singer. Via her first album “Places”, homage to men, Lou Doillon managed to capture the listeners with her very truthful lyrics.

Having grown up with one of the most legendary fashion icons of the 60’s, Jane Birkin, Lou excelled her personal signature style over the years. Having always seen her mother wearing exactly what she wanted, she learned that a real fashion icon never follows the trends.

Wearing huge hats and her son’s shirts, she follows her instincts and makes a kooky statement. She likes dressing up and combines different garments that make people smile. In her video clips, she always wears whatever she wants and the idea having a stylist can drive her absolutely up to the roof. This is why Lou Doillon is an istant crush and an authentic inspiration for all modern girls.

Enjoy below the pictures of Vogue Turkey’s November issue and feel free to admire how the cover girl’s messy grunge hair can be easily combined with an haute couture, maxi gown. Afterall, it’s Lou we’ re talking about.
