Make a Statement

This season it’s all about gems, gold, crystal, embellishments and encrustments!

We must admit that even the most minimalist women have a crush on jewels. We love to style up ourselves with small-or bigger- doses of shiny pieces. They make us feel more feminine and add a touch of luxury to our outfits.

This spring and fall, designers gave plenty of statement jewellery. And of course this wasn’t a random choice. The world is going through a crisis, in one way, or another, so fashion comes to serve people’s vanity in any possible way. That is why everything is becoming more excessive and loud.

So, statement jewels are pieces that we can invest to, without having to change our wardrobe entirely. From necklaces and cuffs, to rings and ear cuffs, the common factor that unites them all is that they are oversized, imposing, imaginative and most of the times, luxurious.

And the fan aspect is that they are best matched with easy-going, casual outfits, so that balance is achieved. Your boyfriend’s T-shirt can be paired with an ethnic inspired necklace, while your floral sundress can match with an embellished ear cuff. Moreover, the classic black trousers-white shirt can make a statement if combined with a gold-plated necklace or with extravagant and geometric earrings.

All in all, we shouldn’t be afraid to add a touch of glam, or distinguish our rather casual outfits with some decorative elements!
