This exhibition is absolutely not a retrospective but an attempt to show what goes on inside the British designer’s head.

“Hello, my name is Paul Smith”. This is the exhibition’s name that invites the fashion crowd into the creative and witty fashion world of Paul Smith. The designer who started from his hometown of Nottingham in a tiny 12 feet square shop to conclude as one of the leading’s global brands stocked in 74 countries.
The showcase recreates the designer’s office which has the reputation of being one of the most inspiring offices in the industry. A place stuffed with a magnificent collection of objects, ranging from old fabric books to architecture and paintings.
Another room features theatrical set remake of the Paris hotel room in which Smith displayed his first collection to buyers that ended in two small orders.
This exhibition’s aim is not to focus on Paul Smith’s creations but to encourage the new designers to find inspiration everywhere developing their signature style and to convince talented people starting without a huge budget or 20 models in a catwalk. Paul Smith claims that all a budding designer needs is “a point of view”.
