The famous, talented American designer decides to create a real departure from Balenciaga’s former “It” bag, the motorcycle one, which dangled on the arm of every celebrity for a decade and so he does. LE DIX collection is here to break the rules!

Balenciaga house is well known for designing bags synonymous with rocker chic, as their pieces are usually adorned with studs, buckets and zips. Although, the New York wunderkind Alexander Wang creates his first handbag collection that winks towards the late 1930s/ early 1940s, when Cristobal Balenciaga first set up shop in Paris: top handles, boxy totes, zero decoration, muted gold appendages in a starched texture. The structured, functional-chic Le Dix collection is another proof of the Wang’s trademark street wear minimalism. Taken her name from the salon address (10 Avenue George V) and the name of Balenciaga’s first scent, Le Dix Collection will surely be a statement in handbags’ history because it combines clean lines with all-time classic colors and materials, such as leather. Each silhouette in the new range comes in forest green, pale gray and black and has just hit Balenciaga’s boutiques, costs from $995 for the pochette to $2250 for the largest size.
