Remember when Minnie made her baby steps into the fashion world last autumn, starring in Barneys Christmas campaign? Well now it’s time for her to make her official debut in the industry.

The ‘Sweetie Issue’ might take us by surprise as LOVE is known to be a bit more edgy, however we can’t help but “aww!” when looking at the cover! Surreal and amazing at the same time, the anniversary cover of the British glossy title makes Minnie’s dream of becoming a model come true! Not only does she dominate the front of the biannual magazine, but she’s also been a bit polished, sporting a flawless make up that makes her glow in her polka dot dress!

Of course, what is a fashion anniversary without some actual models celebrating as well? Some of the top models

that happen to be under the fashion spotlight as we speak were chosen by Katie Grand, LOVE’s editor-in-chief, to pose alongside the star of the issue (Minnie, that is). Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger, Edie Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Chiharu Okunugiput on their custom made mouse-ear headbands (designed by the likes of Gucci, Miu Miu, Loewe, Marc Jacobs and more) and were all photographed by the superb duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The final result is an amazing series of six different covers.Don’t know which one to choose? Thought so.

But how did the whole idea occur? Katie Grand explains: “As work began on this issue, that famous Herb Ritts shot of Madonna popped up on my Instagram feed, the one where she’s in bed wearing the Minnie Mouse ears. And I’ve always been a big fan of Minnie’s style and that polka-dot bow. So we set about getting my favourite girls in Minnie Mouse ears that had been enhanced by the likes of MiuMiu and Jake and Dinos Chapman for Louis Vuitton. But that wasn’t enough; we had to get Minnie Mouse herself in on the act too”. Thankfully, they did.
“She flew across the Atlantic all the way from Disneyworld to a studio in North London so we could shoot her for the cover”. How surreal does all that sound?
