In the middle of the summer, certain songs make us craving for a swim in the sea, a trip to an unexpected destination or simply a bunch of tasteful cocktails.
The classic hit from musical Grease (1978), performed by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, is undeniable one of the perfect songs for hot summer nights.
Summer in the City
The Lovin’ Spoonful describe a hot summer in town, but then encourage us saying “Come-on, come-on and dance all night, despite the heat it’ll be alright”.
“Let’s go surfin now, everybody’s learning how, come on and safari with me”. The Kings of summer songs, The Beach Boys, suggest a different safari for this summer.
Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days of Summer
Lazy-hazy-crazy days of summer. Nothing more to say.
Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini
53 years after, Bryan Hyland’s song is still heard with much pleasure. The only thing remaining is to grab your bikini and run to the beach.
Finally, because The Beach Boys epitomize perfection in summer songs, we couldn’t resist including their classic hit “Kokomo” from the movie Cocktail, back in 1988.
