Haute Couture Fall 2013: Alexis Mabille

Flashback through his dashing creations

Text: Avra Charitou

Inspired by Giovvani Boldini, famous painter of 19th century, Alexis Mabille  creates for his haute couture show garments from another era.

Satin gowns and evening dresses in incredible shades of colours prove that Mabille has closely studied and been admiring Boldini’s work, while the printed with ombré technique pants is a second example of the inspiration he draw from the painter’s play with bright and light.

Main trend of the show is the flowers from head to toe, while the make-up is discreet and glowing, with metallic shades and pink lips.
