Paris Haute Couture Fall 2013 Vol III

The haute couture week came to an end and great us with Viktor & Rolf and Valentino

It’s been a long time since the duo of Viktor & Rolf presented an Haute Couture collection. After thirteen years, they made their second debut with Black Haute Couture collection. They also celebrated label’s 20th anniversary. The entire collection was in black, and focused on volume and movement. Shirt-dresses with seams and cuts and many full-length puffer coats. Wonderful dresses with cut outs, all combined with flat ropy sandals. The voluminous silhouettes made the models look like stones.

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo surprised us once again; they didn’t only design  eveningwear but daywear as well. Dresses and pencil skirts combined with coats and lion patterns make you feel special in the day light. The unique evening pieces made clear that they required hours of handwork. Embroidered gowns, fur trims and crystal beaded swirl patterns made the pieces “unico”, as the Italian designers would say. Gowns were clad in ornate embroidery and luxury fabrics with baroque influences. The patterns and abstract motifs of the sun, moon and stars make you feel like being in a dream.
