A selection of The Great Gatsby clothes are now on view at Prada’s SoHo store in New York City.

The costumes designed by Muccia Prada and Catherine Martin -Luhrmann’s wife and its costume designer- for the much awaited Baz Luhrmann adaptation of “The Great Gatsby”, went on display in New York. The opening of exhibition celebrated at the Prada New York Epicentre at 575 Broadway in Manhattan.
Miuccia Prada has collaborated with legendary costume designer Catherine Martin to create a bespoke collection of over 40 unique cocktail and evening dresses for the movie, all of which are adapted designs from past Prada or Miu Miu collections.
A fashionable crowd had come to see the costumes. Carey Mulligan, Florence Welch, Katy Perry, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Alexa Chung and Harley Viera Newton joined the opening of the exhibition.
Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada Dress Gatsby Exhibition includes gowns, dresses with crystals, fringing and sequins, hats, shoes, jewellery. A placard for each garment gives a full description of the character that wore the piece. The downtown space is decorated with custom Gatsby wallpaper, screens with behind-the-scenes montages, and cases of ornate accessories.
The exhibition will be on display at the Soho Epicenter through May 12 and then travels to Prada’s Tokyo Epicenter store and the IFC Mall in Shanghai.
