A hymn of Madonna’s fashion took place on 25th of April down to Macy’s, in Century City, California for one day only. A retrospective that includes all her famous costumes from the instantly recognizable –meaning provocative in a fashionable way- Jean Paul Gaultier conical corset to the “Like a Virgin” wedding dress that she wore to the MTV VMA’s in 1984. Madonna herself picked her favourite pieces from both her massive collection archive and her personal collection, especially for the installation. Alongside the exhibition stood the latest collection from the Material Girl, designed by Madonna’s daughter Lourdes. “The pop-up exhibit at Macy’s perfectly exemplifies the inspiration and spirit of the Material Girl line and will give my fans a great opportunity to see the evolution of my style over the years”, said Madonna. Arianne Phillips, who has collaborated with the singer/director/story-teller/fashion designer, curated andstyled the one-day-only installation.
