“What shall I wear to work today?”… This really common query does not seem to apply to our favourite Riri, who happens to get a great deal of attention by the fashion world lately. Streetstyle icon, beauty chameleon and a recent fashion designer, she made the perfect muse for Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy, who has now created the outfits for the first act of Rihanna’s live shows during her “Diamonds World” tour.

“I enjoyed making these looks”, said Tisci. “Rihanna represents what young and amazing means today. She is punk and talented”. Words that came as no surprise if you look back at the custom T-shirt with her face printed on it, which the House of Givenchy gave her as a gift for her 25th birthday. Cool, right?

Rihanna kicked off the tour, performing in Buffalo, with her opening outfit consisting of a floor-length cape, which later revealed a custom black leather and gold-embroidered wrestling robe. Haute Couture pieces were mixed with Tisci’s great love for sportswear, all trimmed with streetwear elements, giving an explosively impressive result.

“She offers intelligence, energy, and pure beauty. Rihanna has what every girl aspires to have”, Tisci said. “She is the face of her generation.” True story.
