We all love a woman who manages perfectly to mix femininity with androgynous silhouettes.

We have all seen Kate Lanphear posing for the street style bloggers, impeccably stylish. Throughout Fashion Weeks and all sorts of fashion events, we admire the way she manages to put her identity and her character in her outfits. The style director of T Magazine -New York Time’s style magazine- drew a lot of media attention the past November, after leaving Elle. Born in Virginia, she started her career in fashion in Australia, working for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar Australia. She then returned to the USA, where she continued working in Harper’s Bazaar USA, and left when she was offered a job as senior fashion editor at Elle and Style Director later on, in 2008.
Most of the times, she wears loose and androgynous outfits, keeping accessories to the minimum, and giving a more refined touch using fashionable sunglasses. Her platinum short hair give an extra touch to her clothing choices. She usually prefers dark colors in total looks, but we’ve also seen her many times keeping it simple with just a white T-Shirt. She also has a special love for coats and jackets that can make even the most basic outfits seem extra stylish.
Kate Lanphear is not just another fashion icon. Her authenticity and her character are always there in her outfits, and apart from styling ideas, we learn from her that we must feel comfortable in our clothes, and always be ourselves.
