Louis Vuitton has unveiled their spring 2013 ad campaign. Artist Daniel Buren, who was the man behind the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer fashion show, has also created a Damier graphic backdrop for the Campaign as well.
Shot by Steven Meisel in a New York studio and styled by Karl Templer, the ad reflects exactly the fashion show mood. The campaign pairs 12 upcoming models, most of whom walked the Louis Vuitton show in October, wearing similar outfits and carrying identical bags. Marc Jacobs tells to the fashion reporters «I have always loved Daniel Buren’s work and Les Deux Plateux in the Palais Royal in Paris, a series of striped columns of three different heights was the inspiration for the proportions of the clothes. I felt that the idea of pairing the girls as twins heightened the message of repetition, and the repetition of the pattern which is the key this season».
