For the last week of a really long winter, we have picked some of the most entertaining events. Cinema, art and music, for your eyes only…
ZERO DARK THIRTY
The highly anticipated thriller by Kathryn Bigelow is premiering in greek movie theaters today, February 21st. In this movie, we will watch a chronicle of the decade-long hunt for al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden, after the September 2001 attacks, and his death at the hands of the Navy S.E.A.L. Team 6 in May 2011. A very controversial film which received 5 Oscar nominations and you shouldn’t miss!
GREEK NATIONAL GALLERY
A radical renovation for the National Gallery is planned to begin in June and you should take the opportunity to visit it for its really significant collection of art, before it gets shut for quite a long period of time. Have a look at the museum’s vast Greek and Western-European collection and don’t forget to visit the El Greco permanent exhibition that hosts some of the most important pieces of work of the great painter.
Badminton theater presents the “Masquerade” by the State Academic E. Vakhtangov Theatre of Russia. On February 22nd and 23rd, the main stage of the theater will look like a snowy landscape from Russia. A very impressive show by the subversive Lithuanian director, Mikhail Lermontov that will take you on a journey in a land far far away.

THOM YORKE’S LATEST MUSICAL EXPERIMENTS
Atoms for Peace, has often been characterized as a super group. Formed by Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and former R.E.M. drummer Joey Waronker, it experiments with rock and electronic music. Their new album, “Amok”, is highly anticipated and will be released on February 26th.
