Every campaign of Bottega Veneta is photographed by a significant fashion photographer and the result is stunning. “The Art of Collaboration” is a video series, describing the style of the House related to the artist’s vision.
There is a long list of important artists who have contributed to the creation of Bottega Veneta’s advertising portfolio, including Steven Meisel, Annie Leibovitz and Nick Knight amongst others. This time, Bottega Veneta announced that Peter Lindbergh, who has been an influential figure in fashion photography since the 1970s, has photographed the brand’s Spring/Summer 2013 campaign, featuring women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections.
For Tomas Maier, the creative director of the House, the German fashion photographer was a natural choice, thanks to the creative curiosity he brings to his work. “This is a nuanced and diverse collection in which the crucial element is the individual who wears the clothes. There are few photographers who can convey the range of emotion and personality that Peter can. We are both interested in escaping the clichés and conventions of fashion imagery. Peter was able to strips things down to their essence, creating beautiful images that express exactly what is most important”, he explains.
The campaign was shot in Universal Studios, in Los Angeles, and the video documenting the photoshoot that has just been added to the “Art of Collaboration” video series on Bottega Veneta’s official website.
