It is Valentine’s Day today and I have to ask you! Is love really about teddy-bears?

Text: Mary Giatra

Love is everywhere. It is in a painting, in the sensitive lyrics of a musical, in the rhythm of an ancient dance or in the sayings of a great writer. We just have to listen closely and we will find it.

THE GOOD PERSON FROM SZETSUAN

“How can someone be good when everything around them is so expensive?”

Brecht’s question is timeless and the talented director Katerina Evangelatou has undertaken to give us an answer. In “The good person of Szetsuan” (written 1926-1941), the gods track down the only good person on Earth: a prostitute in the province of Szetsuan in China and they reward her with a big amount of money until the adventures begin. Stefania Goulioti is in the lead role of this amazing performance that you have a last chance to watch, as it will be played until February 17th, at the Onassis Cultural Center.

TANGO GRECO

When Tango escaped from the neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires and reached Paris and then the rest of Europe, nobody would have guessed how much impact it would have. This universal rhythm that loves to travel and that is very passionate and personal, has also influenced many important greek musicians and songwriters. Badminton theater organizes on February 18th, a unique concert in which some of the most celebrated greek singers participate and is completely dedicated to Greek Tango. Don’t miss it and let yourselves get carried away…
