Charlotte Moss: A Visual Life

Design inspirations by great women of style

Text: Mariannie Samara

The famous interior designer and author Charlotte Moss, has always been collecting scrapbooks of famous women. Throughout the years, she has also created her personal ones. In this book, Moss is gathering together the best of her archive. Fashion icons, historical female figures, along with her expertise in the field of design, complete this design story.

It is the first time that these scrapbooks are published. The book includes various categories, such as home, garden, travel, entertaining and fashion. In every chapter Charlotte’s sense of style is mixed with the style of the most iconic women of the last decades. Some of the famous personal scrapbooks that are included are those of the designer Elsie de Wolfe and the societe Gloria Vanderbilt. Design tips from the bon vivant Evangeline Bruce and the iconic Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis are only some of what’s available in the “Visual Life”.

“Collage is a way that we can all embrace the artist in ourselves, by using the medium of very personal material, our own ideas, thoughts and photographs, as well as those of others that inspire us”, writes Charlotte Moss in the introduction of the book.
