Jacquelyn Jablonski is an good example of Paolo Coelho’s quote “If you want something, the universe helps you to achieve it”. Born in New Jersey, this 21 year old girl has roots from Poland, Germany and Ireland. A great combination I should say, although I don’t have to, because her work speaks for itself.
In 2007 Jacquelyn made the decision to miss one day from school and went with her mother to the city to follow her dream. She took a few polaroids and Ford Models decided to work with her. One year later she was a finalist in the 2008 international Ford Supermodel of the World contest. As a student she couldn’t miss her class lessons and her soccer team needed her too, so she couldn’t work as a full time model at the time. Jacquelyn in that period didn’t stop dreaming and everytime she was looking at the new catwalk collections on style.com, her wish was the same: to walk for all those designers. Time usually flies by very quickly and when she graduated, Jacquelyn got back in town for hard work (I would like to call her Jac but she thinks that there are too many Jacs in this world xoxo)
On her first season she participated in 58 shows and her fashion CV already counts in just a few weeks, collaborations with Pucci, Etro, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Gucci, Jason Wu, Valentino, Chanel, Dior, Oscar de la renta, Jill Stuart, Karl Lagerfeld, Kenzo, Lanvin, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Max Azria, Max Mara, Miu Miu, Prada, Rag & Bone, RM by Roland Mouret, Roberto Cavalli, Rochas, Sharon Wauchob, Sophia Kokosalaki, Sportmax, Thakoon, Valentino, Viktor & Rolf, Wunderkind, Yigal Azrouel, Yves Saint Laurent and many others.
She rarely has free time but when she does, she likes to go for a dinner with her bookers and model-friends . That probably means that they obviously admire her personality as well, maybe because she is a sister of an autistic kid, an incident that has helped her to be very mature for her age.
If you open her suitcase you will find skinny jeans, a leather jacket, heels and a pair of comfortable flat shoes to walk around in shows and castings. She needs them for sure, because when Hermes, Givenchy, Tommy Hilfiger, Pucci, Stefanel, Max Mara and H&M have you on their campaigns, many other clients want to work with you like crazy. Her favourite trade is a Balenciaga bag and she always takes care of what she is wearing at the castings and shows. “Important clients are at the shows and we are always photographed coming and going, so I think dressing up is the right thing to do”, she notes.
What about editorials? Well, she has been in 63 editorials, in magazines like Dazed and oCnfused, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, V, Numero, Muse and we can she her posing on 10 covers : Russh, Cover , French Revue de Modes, Deutsch, Ginza, Spur, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure and Vogue Turkey. She keeps up her great body by doing pilates and she can not resist in -guess what: chocolate, like, probably, any other woman!
