Model Profile: Toni Garrn

Text: Monika S. Kwiecien

After a movie at the cinema with a friend while World Cup 2006 was in progress, Toni Garrn, the blonde model with the big blue eyes from Hamburg was discovered by her booker Claudia Midolo, owner of Toni’s mother agency “Modelwerk”. She was only 13 years old and she could have never imagined what was going to happen next.

Born on the 7th of July in Germany, daughter of a qualified businesswoman, she started to build a career in an other big business industry: the industry of fashion. She signed her contract with her agency in 2007, while already one year ago “Women” in new York wanted to work with her too. Her first big jobs were editorials for italian Elle and French Vogue, she participated in a few new faces awards in her country and the biggest surprise of all was that she opened and closed Calvin Klein show exclusively in New York and replaced Natalia Vodianova as the face of Calvin Klein Collection.

Same thing happened with Hugo Boss and Fendi replacing Catherine McNeil and Raquel Zimmermann. The same year Prada chose her as the face of the brand and months later she signs cosmetics contracts with Shiseido Cle de Peau, while doing also the campaigns of  Chloé, Etro, and Emporio Armani.

Modeling was never her dream. She was focused on her school projects and that was the reason to skip fashion week in Fabruary 2010, because of her Abitur (final) exams. That didn’t worry her because many girls had been in the same situation before and continued with success their career later. Everything depends on how you look at things and how much you want something. If you want it, you can do it.

Milan, Paris, New York – she had never travelled so much in her life before. In Germany, she is compared with Claudia Schiffer and Heidi Klum. She likes to play tennis, piano and sleeping for hours. Many people ask her what’s her opinion about drugs in the modeling world. Toni believes that world of fashion has money and competition and girls sometimes can not stand all this pressure but it doesn’t matter if you are a model or no, this is generally a big problem of our society. People believe that all models are stupid as well, it doesn’t mean it is true. Last season Toni walked for a lot of designers, such as Emilio Pucci, Etro, Fendi, Gianfranco Ferrè, Giorgio Armani, J.Mendel, Jo No Fui, John Galliano, Ohne Titel, Paco Rabanne, Prabal Gurung, Ralph Lauren, Sportmax, Viktor & Rolf and did campaigns for Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein and she has been one of the Victoria’s Secret girls since 2011.

How she could not with measurements 33-24-35?
