Model Profile: ARIZONA MUSE

Text: Monika S. Kwiecien

Born on the 18th of September in 1988, the british-american Arizona Muse started modeling at the age of eighteen. The following year she signed up with Next models agency and appeared in the spring issue of french Revue de Modes. Sometimes things happen when you least expect it. After a job in New York -when her career started to roll- she found out that she was pregnant and in 2009 she gave birth to her son. As a mother it takes courage to pick your personal life back especially when you are a single one. Vogue’s director Anna Wintour describes her as gorgeous-smart grown up person and she is so right.

One year later, Arizona decided to start modeling again and she took the risk to combine motherhood and hard-working. Everything was for a good reason. With a new, short, haircut she left her old-self back and in 2010 she opened exclusively the Prada show, Miu Miu, Rochas and Kenzo, she walked for BCBG, Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez, Herve Leger, she appeared in an editorial for W shot by Paolo Roversi and in Chinese, British and French Vogue and put her in the list of top 10 newcomers.

The most shocking fact for me is that Arizona has participated in more than 225 editorial pages of Vogue magazines -well, Vogue seems to love her.

Her first campaign was in 2011 for Yves-Saint Laurent: “It was the first campaign I ever did, I’d love to do another one, it’d make me so proud”, she said afterwards -and what about the new name, Saint Laurent Paris? Arizona thinks that it was a good idea to change the name… people who are not in the fashion world might not know that a new designer has joined the brand and in that way it is a sign of a big change, something that everyone will notice.

Muse has appeared in 18 magazine covers and she is the 3rd American that has held this position in the models’ world. She seems to be a low profile person and in her free time she enjoys playing with her son, watching movies and reading Garcia Marquez books. If she had a wish that would be 6 more hours every day for sleeping – doing 3 things in the same time (she also builds her own brand) it’s definitely not easy- but no matter what, she looks gorgeous and not tired at all.

If she ever got a tattoo she would get her whole back done and if she could change something on her that would be her nose. Being the face of Estee Lauder in her last campaign, she is dreaming of a new apartment in New York with the money she will earn from it. This girl is the ideal example of a successful woman with the absolute term of the word and that’s why we love her.
