Pastel colours, luxurious materials, gold details and sculptured surfaces are the words that describe best the bags of the Chanel Resort 2013 collection. Rococo and, especially, the palace of Versailles was the inspiration behind the designs. The show took place in the plush gardens of the palace, featuring three massive fountains, where modern Marie Antoinettes gave prominence to Chanel’s impeccable accessories. But the collection had also a punk and eccentric feeling that took the project of the 18th century one step forward and made the world craving for a “Boy” bag. As Mr. Lagerfeld confirmed “It’s Coco rock, not Rococo”.
