Observer: Chanel Metiers d’Art 2013

Text: Christianna Belba

Chanel took my breath away once more. Everyone knows I am a huge fan of the fashion house and Karl himself. The latest Metiers d’Art collection “Paris-Edinburgh”, was presented in Linlithgow Palace in Scotland. The guests were covered in Chanel blankets especially designed for the show and artificial snow made the atmosphere a bit more spectacular.

Inspired by Coco’s relationship with Duke of Westminster and Queen Mary’s tragic life story, the designer showed knitwear, classic tweeds but with a twist, wool cardigans, chunky garments, kilt in chiffon and lace. Hands up for the styling part with eccentric jewels, feathered hats, oversized scarves.
