The road to winter is paved with live beats, grandiose spectacles and cool night destinations but as the days pass by, I cannot stop repeating this phrase: “Hip, hip hooray… Tim Burton is returning!”

A cup black-and-white humor, a big dose of surrealistic humor and a generous touch of imagination has been Tim Burton’s magical recipe for years. The “father” of Edward Scissorhands and Corpse Bride returns with Frankenweenie, a story about young Victor Frankenstein who loses his favorite pet in a terrible accident and tries to bring it back to life. The highly anticipated Frankenweenie premieres today with the voices of Winona Ryder and Martin Short.

This year marks 200 years since the birth of the great musician Giuseppe Verdi. The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko State Moscow Music Theatre returns to Badminton theater, in order to present an once-in-a-lifetime show of very high quality to the greek audience. Verdi’s opera “La Traviata”, which is one of the most popular, tells the story of a Parisian prostitute in the 18th century Paris who falls in love with a poor aristocrat. It is a great story of love surrounded by exceptional music, that premieres on November 22nd and will go on throughout the weekend. Don’t miss it!

November 24th is the date that you are going to keep in mind, because the American actress and new soul singer Macy Grey will be performing live in Athens. The club Fuzz will welcome Macy, who has made a huge comeback. She sets her funky music a bit aside and presents our favorite songs with a little twist. Remixes of Eurythmics, Radiohead, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Arcade fire are in her list, and her performance is expected to be unforgettable.

Ok, enough with the grand spectacles! Do you guys absolutely need a drink? Happy hour in Athens’ most special places is the answer to your problems. This week we suggest “Booze Cooperativa”. Our favorite place in Kolokotroni Str. is reducing it’s prices starting this week. From 7 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. the highest price you are going to have to pay is six euros. Meanwhile, you will be able to enjoy many events going on at the time. “Booze”, live performances and parties will keep you warm during the cold November nights.
