British designer Giles Deacon made his debut in 2004. Since then, his creations have made a great impact on the fashion world, as he perfectly combines fashion and art. Princess Beatrice, Kate Moss and Drew Barrymore are among his famous fans.
Deacon now introduces us to something completely new. A 16-piece capsule collection for the online retailer Matches. It doesn’t only include clothes but collectable gift items as well; from silk sundresses, tunics, pants, T-shirts, cashmere scarves and tote bags, to notebooks, chinaware, stickers, plates and dolls. They are all part of this highly artistic collection. Each piece features a hand-drawn illustration by Giles, which is based on a series of dolls. The inspirations for these dolls were different types of real people that he observed in Claridge’s in London. Giles’ personal aesthetic is obvious in every item: eccentric, artistic, sophisticated and above all, British!
To celebrate the launch of this exclusive collection together with Halloween, Giles and Matches held a party at Matches HQ in central London.
Models were wearing the silk pink and blue printed dresses from the collection.
While the dolls were dressed in the same clothes as well, but in micro size.
The Giles’ exclusive capsule collection is be available at Matchesfashion.com since November 13th.
