“Adespoti” at Gallery Zoumboulaki

Text: Vasiliki Simeonidi

A new exhibition runs from November 8th until December 8th at Zoumboulaki Gallery. Three artists, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, Paris Koutsikos and Daniel Egneus joined forces for  “Adespoti”, in which they try -with their creations- to illustrate their feelings that derive from Athens’ current situation.

Alexandros Vasmoulakis, through his paintings, tries to picture the woman of the 19th and 20th century with his imagination. Women with different characters appear in his work. While Paris Koutsikos, by using the collage technique, mixes shiny materials to add glamour to his artworks, which are based on calligraphic typography. Finally, the world traveller Swedish illustrator, Daniel Egneus, choose to divide his work into three sections. First, there are ladies’ hats inspired by stray dogs, then we have famous women who photographed in their homes wearing designer clothes and, last but not least, some peculiar pictures inspired by the chaos in Athens.
