The first Marni fragrance is now a reality. Creative director, Consuelo Castiglioni, in association with Estee Lauder, revealed more details about the Italian house’s first perfume: “It’s for a woman who dresses for herself, who doesn’t follow trends but is sophisticated and also maybe a little eccentric”. The perfume is “a blend of spicy and woody notes” combined with an “intense rose oil to inject voluptuousness”, a feeling that reminds us a lot the aesthetic of the house.
As for the bottle , Castiglioni’s inspiration was a falcon found at a flea market, which she covered -of course- with Marni’s signature polka dots. “I wanted a bottle that was kind of traditional—that is, one that lasts over time, like the clothes we make. It isn’t seasonal”.
The fragrance is expected to come out in February 2013.
