Parisian Stroll#1

In the mood for a French, chic experience? Follow me while I’m discovering la Ville Lumière, the City of Light!

There is no better way to start a typical Parisian day than to wander around, observing everything and everyone in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, Saint-Germain des-Prés. Ambient atmosphere, beautiful people, fabulous boutiques, great bookstores. First stop, Café de Flore, Boulevard Saint-Germain.

Meeting point of la crème de la crème, Café de Flore has welcomed in the past Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Dali, Yves Saint Laurent, Rochas, Givenchy, Lagerfeld, Catherine Deneuve, Sofia Coppola, Brigitte Bardot, Sonia Rykiel… Café de Flore also housed the first fashion show of Chloé in 1956, inspired by Gaby Aghion.

Since we are fashion lovers, how about visiting the exhibition celebrating the House’s 60-year contribution to fashion culture? The exhibition is running at Palais de Tokyo, 16th arrondissement, until 18th November 2012. Those who aren’t lucky enough to be or visit Paris this time of year are free to take a sneak peek into Chloé. Attitudes.

To celebrate its sixtieth anniversary, the House is re-issuing sixteen of the archive’s emblematic creations, available in Chloé boutiques from February 2013. Ι chose my favorite iconic pieces to share especially with you.

Blouse & Jersey dress –  Gaby Aghion, 1960

The Violin Dress – Karl Lagerfeld, 1983

Jeans & Paddington bag – Phoebe Philo, 2004

Python boots & silk scarf tied to Silverado bag – Phoebe Philo, 2004

Wraparound cape & high-waisted shorts – Hannah MacGibbon, 2009

I hope you enjoyed the stroll as much as I did. Au revoir!
