From the French word, which means “shaded”, ombre refers to colors or tones that shade into each other – used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark. In the world of fashion we’ve seen the ombre technique in everything; from clothing to nail polish.

We’ ve already seen ombre hair,

ombre jeans, shirts, skirts,

even ombre mini cakes..!

Now, one of the most fashionable trends finds its way to home decoration, conquering the most hip appartments. Ombre offers either a playful tone in a child’s room or a fresh “holiday” air in urban living-rooms.

By adopting the trend of ombre in the decoration of a house several effects and illusions can be created. For example, you can make a room look high ceilinged or look like a beach house. Everything depends on the colors.

If you’re not familiar with extreme changes, you could just add a few ombre details. Here are some great ideas.
