“Siamo tutti Greci”
One hundred and twelve artists from Italy join forces in an exhibition at the Benaki Museum in a symbolic gesture of solidarity towards Greece. Acclaimed and younger artists participate in the exhibition either by donating one of their existing works or by creating a whole new project especially for the exhibition. The two countries share common historical and cultural memories that have defined the whole structure of the european civilization. The exhibition opens to the public today, October 25th and at the same time, a silent auction is being organized. After the end of the show, the art works will be available for 400 EUR each.

“Manon Lescaut” at the Greek National Opera
A passion-filled love story, a dramma lirico in four acts by Giacomo Puccini that reveals his remarkable musical language returns after 26 years as this season’s major production at the Greek National Opera. Based on the moralizing novel by Abbé Prévost, the opera tells the story of the Chevalier Des Grieux and Manon Lescaut and stands out for its intensity and orchestral richness. The stage direction has been undertaken by one of the world’s most important opera directors, Giancarlo del Monaco. The sets of the production have been designed by Nikos Petropoulos who inventively places the action of the opera in a 1960’s film studio. This Friday and Sunday and for a limited number of performances in November.
