Paris Fashion Week: Celine, Hermès, Gaultier

Text: Christianna Belba

The key word for Celine S/S’13 is wearable. Silky fabrics, lighter than air to be exact, a hint of black and loose figures. Black and white, color duos, pastel pink, light grey and cream are in the chrome basis for Celine but a touch of leather was also spotted. High-waist pants meet boxy clean cut shirts with see though details. Few rather interesting knots make an appearance confirming that Celine will be in the spotlight once again this upcoming summer.

Fine leather and scarf prints –elements the house of Hermes is famous for, are used in the runway as well for S/S’13. Leather shorts in classic colors such as black and camel but also bright colors such as turquoise and electric blue bring attention to luxury. Total print outfits, the continuous use of leather in coats and dresses present the fine craftsmanship and excellent detailing.

Jean-Paul Gaultier
A tribute to the fabulous 80’s and a fashion dedication to the stars of the decade. Ziggy Stardust and other pop stars (Madonna, an impersonation of Boy Georgre by Karlie Kloss and Amanda Lear herself) walked down the catwalk and presented nothing less that fabulous creations. The key color was black, although his all time favorite mariniere appeared in a look, as well as print jumpsuits, denim and bold colors such as hot pink and electric blue.
