Observer: Scarlet alert

RED: 3 letters, one great color, so many meanings. The color of the fire, cherry, passion, berry, wine and most importantly love is in season’s best picks as well.

Text: Christianna Belba

From dark red- burgundy to fire’s red, this color was spotted in runways and not just as a detail but in full skirts, peplum dresses, in coats and pants.

Red is considered sexy and sometimes, in our thoughts, kind of naughty. But observing Chloe’s proposal with the oversized knit pullover, the thoughts in my head disappear quickly, bringing out the wow effect.

Except from  the classic red satin fabric, like the Lanvin peplum dress, red velvet is quite popular as well, in the case of Ralph Lauren’s suit with the oversized pants. Red leather pants in an option too but not for me to be honest. And here comes the accessories. A red bag, shoes or an ipad case will add the drama effect we are all looking for in an outfit.

Red in fashion is automatically combined with Valentino. And although Valentino no longer designs for his label, his succesors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli keep his vision and legacy alive. A Valentino handbag or a pair of shoes can be the focus. And may I add here that since last week that all bloggers received the limited edition red Rockstud shoes, my dreams content involve those red cuties.

PS: take a virtual tour on Valentino’s shoe room – for the ultimate shoe experiences. In there you can spot my dream Rockstud shoes as well.
